September 10, 1998 - November 24, 2009
Courtney Renee Sipes was born on September 10, 1998 in Lewisville, Texas and immediately became the sunshine of our family. She grew to be an amazingly creative and inspiring young girl. She loved to do everything - dance, gymnastics, soccer, softball, swimming, singing, acting, art, cooking, writing and playing musical instruments. She excelled at song writing, guitar and art. She could always be found drawing freehand, doing graphic arts on her computer, singing a published song on key and with every word right, or singing and playing one of her own original songs. She kept paper and pen handy to jot down lyrics that came to mind.
Courtney also deeply cared about others. She had an immense love of family, and wanted to help others - friends, kids with cancer, animals, the elderly ... whatever the need she was there.
Courtney was well loved by family and friends. She always made people smile, and lit up the room when she entered. She left a permanent impression on many, and we know that people who knew her are better for having met her.
In March, 2009 we moved to Smithtown, New York on Long Island. Though sad to leave Lewisville, her friends and her school, Courtney had a list of things to see and do and saw the move as an exciting adventure. She made many friends very quickly, had a wonderful summer on Long Island, and loved her new school, teachers and friends.
On November 24, 2009 at age 11 we tragically lost Courtney in Smithtown, New York. Losing our sunshine has left us, our family, friends, and our communities - both in New York and Texas - simply devastated and with the most unbelievable pain to endure. We know she is a most beautiful angel in Heaven with our Lord Jesus, and will always remain in our hearts.
Our family will continue her passions in art and music by inspiring others with her talents and helping others as we know she would have continued to do.
